WCG crap... I mean, recap*

What a disappointing event. In fact, all big events this year have been soooooo disappointing. ESWC was really disappointing (except for the party), Gamescom (at least the gaming part) was disappointing (even the party), and WCG was really disappointing (party was acceptable).

They were boasting about the hundred of thousands of spectators that were to come to the event, and I mean there literally wasn't more than a few hundred, and most of them were Asians coming to see SC2. (Sounds familiar? people lying about spectators again? Wait...rings a bell about ESWC...) Then it was really sneaky of them to announce the very much lowered price money like a few hours before the games started....really sneaky.

This was America god damnit. I was expecting them to overdo and exaggerate on everything like they do in their movies. Fireworks and loud music and big bangs, but instead there was only a show stage used for shitty entertainment like mobile phone games, and then a secluded area for where the real games happened on a "smaller stage" which was basically 10 pcs on a big box and a projector screen, with a couple of shitty chairs in front of it, knowing they wouldn't expect many spectators. The stupid samsung dancing challenge booth took over all the music and atmosphere in the hall.

Lets not start with the theft. Yeah, nixon got his camera stolen at the event in the gamers area, meaning it was either a referee or a gamer who stole it, so sad. Followed by me getting my camera stolen at the hotel. Nice.

Then there was to be this big thing about the "WCG ultimate gamer" where the last episode would be filmed at the WCG stage. Yeah... it was done at like 11pm when everyone was gone, the crowd shouting were all people hired off the streets, and what was meant to be "spontanious" has been recut and edited and redone so many times. Nice America, glad you didn't disappoint our expectations.

Did I mention that downtown closes at 10pm? Seriously, what the fuck, a huge popular city like Los Angeles, and at 10pm all the decent stuff closes.. 10PM! my baker stays open later in my shity village. After 10pm all you can do on a saturday night is go clubbing. If you dont want to go clubbing and just want to relax have a snack and a beer or two you're pretty much fucked, unless you go to taco bell or something. Classy, Nice!

My point being, lets keep WCG or ESWCs in Europe or Asia at least. They know how to organise events (ok except France, they pretty much suck). Maybe they don't look awesome on camera but at least they make it a great experience for anyone present, which I thought was kind of the point? Not to mention that Americas lame ass Visa crap made a lot of teams and players not be able to attend, which is kinda fucking stupid considering this is the WORLD cup, not the "America is friends with the countries participating, the rest can fuck off home" cup.

Seriously. Nice...
